Professor Elaine Biddiss
Keynote Speaker I
Dr. Biddiss is a senior scientist at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and associate professor at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, University of Toronto. At Holland Bloorview, Dr. Biddiss' research focuses on the design and evaluation of innovative technologies that create possibilities for young people with disabilities to participate more enjoyably and effectively in arts, music, physical activities and therapies. Alongside an interdisciplinary team and with the collaboration of families, and clinicians, Dr. Biddiss has developed mixed reality therapy games (e.g. Bootle Blast) and play spaces (e.g. ScreenPlay) that are inclusive, impactful, and fun for kids all abilities.

Hey everyone! My name is Liam, I am a 4th year Biomedical Engineering Student currently on an internship at a company called Conavi Medical Inc. I am also a Co-Founder at a health tech diabetes related start-up company called Glucose Vision, and the Co-President of Tetra Ryerson, a student group creating assistive devices for individuals with disabilities. Technology is a rapidly growing field giving us so much opportunity, I am very interested in this field and continue to learn new ways on how we can apply it to innovate!
